God's Minimum Expectation is Excellence!

Reclaim the FIRE! – Day 112

From: The Pastor’s Heart
Title: “Watch What You Say”

If you know me then you know that in this 2016 Presidential election I’m voting for
the non-Trump candidate, not because of her gender, but because of her ability and her
stability. I say that especially this morning after hearing what Donald said yesterday at a
rally about Hillary Clinton and the 2nd Amendment:

“Hillary wants to abolish — essentially abolish — the 2nd Amendment.

By the way, and if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do,
folks. Although the 2nd Amendment people — maybe there is, I don’t know.

But — but I’ll tell you what, that will be a horrible day. If, if Hillary gets to put her
judges — right now we’re tied. You see what’s going on. We’re tied ’cause Scalia — this
was not supposed to happen.”

I’m not surprised anymore about what this man says at any given time, but this
morning I am greatly concerned about how some may respond to what he said. Growing
up we were told, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.”
We understood that was to encourage us to not allow the mean spirited words that people
say to negatively affect us. Many of us have developed thick skin and do not get bent out
of shape when someone speaks scandalous about us. This, however, was not a statement
of indifference, it was a statement of incitement.

We should be careful about what we say at all times because the word of God tells
us that the power of life and death are in the tongue. What we say, especially in the midst
of controversy and confrontation has weight and it matters greatly. I’ve never been a fan of
the philosophy of: “What comes up – comes out!” I believe strongly that we should try to
season our words with grace and remember that what we declare and release in the
atmosphere can literally alter the tenor of that atmosphere.

As children of the most high God and heirs of Christ, let’s remember how Jesus
handled moments of tension and discord with grace and patience. He would never just
shout out whatever was on His mind without giving great consideration to what His words
would mean at that time and in the future. He knew that it was important to analyze not
only when something was said, but how something was said.

You are not only a vessel of God but you’re also a representative of heaven. Be
careful what you allow to proceed out of your mouth today and know that you can change
a generation for the better if you say the right thing. Take out the time to speak life and not
death. God’s watching and He’s listening, so please… Watch What You Say!

EVERYTHING WE DO MOVING FORWARD WILL BE INTENTIONAL AND DRIVEN WITH
PURPOSE TO REPRESENT THE KINGDOM OF GOD IN THE BEST POSSIBLE LIGHT!
NOTHING WILL BE DONE WITH ENERGY LESS THAN OUR BEST AND EFFORT BELOW
OUR MAXIMUM POTENTIAL.

OUR SERVICE IS LOCAL, BUT OUR REACH IS GLOBAL – SO WE CANNOT REDUCE OUR
PRESENTATION DOWN TO WHAT’S CONVENIENT, BUT RATHER WE MUST RAISE IT TO
THAT WHICH IS EXPLOSIVE!

Get ready for major change that’s coming systematically, intellectually, purposefully, and
professionally. Nothing we do moving forward will be done haphazardly, sloppily, poorly,
or carnally.

We Are the LIGHT!

Sincerely,
Pastor J.E. Chandler, Sr.
